BCC is a college with a half-century legacy of providing lifelong learning for residents of Florida’s Space Coast, offering nearly 100 degrees and programs to meet every educational need. We have four campuses in the cities of Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne and Palm Bay with faculty dedicated to the personalized instruction and small class size necessary to ensure student success. That long-standing philosophy is why BCC ranks among the top community colleges in the United States:
- We are the 29th largest producer of A.A. degrees in the US.
- We are the 91st largest producer of A.A. degrees for minorities in the US.
- We have the second highest graduation rate in the 28-member Florida College System, with 48 percent of our students earning degrees or certifications on time vs. the state average of just 18 percent.
- Out of 1,700 community colleges in the nation, we are the 94th largest in terms of enrollment.
Anyone seeking a traditional college education can count on BCC for their first two years of college. We have an agreement that ensures the transferability of credits to Florida public universities, as well as similar agreements with numerous private institutions. For example, BCC has a well-established partnership that provides a seamless transition to the University of Central Florida. We also have an agreement with the nearby Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne.
Our many technical and vocational programs permit graduates to enter the workforce or to retrain for the ever changing requirements of business and industry. The college is undertaking several important new initiatives that include close partnerships with Brevard businesses to help ensure that we educate the employees they need to fill jobs in high-growth areas. This ensures our students have the ability to get good jobs upon graduation. Other programs to increase student internships and professional mentoring will make certain BCC is the first place businesses come when they are looking for highly-educated employees to fill their staffs.
For the first time in its history, the College plans to begin offering a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Organizational Management starting in August 2013. The degree will include concentrations in general management and health care management, and is a landmark step for the College as we serve as an economic engine to help the Brevard and Florida economies grow. In sum, we are strongly committed to serving BCC's diverse communities by expanding educational opportunities while remaining sharply focused on our roots and our core mission.
